Lars Skriver, Ph.D. Lars Skriver is managing director of L&K Biosciences providing international consulting services to companies in biopharmaceutical and protein drug development. The services include: Management of discovery and development programs in multiple disease and technical areas; design, development and scale up of biopharmaceutical processes and analytical programs; management support, intellectual property evaluation and technical due diligence operations together with R&D and manufacturing outsourcing strategies. Prior to that, he was senior manager at various development departments at Novo Nordisk in the operational area of process and analytical development programs based on microbial and mammalian expression systems. LS is the co-founder of 2 biotech companies and is co-author of 35 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals and of 14 granted patents. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Copenhagen. Martin R. Larsen, Ph.D. Dr. Martin Larsen is Associate Professor at University of Southern Denmark and joined the Alphalyse Scientific Advisory Board in 2006. His field of expertise is in proteomics method development for characterization of post translational modifications, including phosphorylation in regulating cellular events, and protein glycosylation involvement in cancer development and as potential biomarkers. Among others, he has developed titanium dioxide affinity purifications for analysis of sialylated and phosphorylated peptides. He has received a number of international scientific awards and has 60 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals plus 70 international conference presentations. He obtained his Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Protein Chemistry in 2000 from University of Southern Denmark. Peter Højrup, Ph.D., Associate Professor, University of Southern Denmark Dr. Peter Højrup, Professor at University of Southern Denmark, obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1986 and has since then been employed at the University of Aarhus and at the University of Southern Denmark. He has more than 20 years experience in protein structural characterization. He has written more than 150 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and has written several book chapters on Bioinformatics, Peptide mapping and Mass spectrometry. In addition to mass spectrometry, he is an expert in Post translational modifications, Edman degradation and amino acid analysis, and has written several programs for the control and data analysis for these instruments. He is also the author of the popular GPMAW program for the analysis of mass spectral data of proteins and peptides.
