MANAGEMENT
Thomas Kofoed, Ph.D Dr. Kofoed has as Chief Executive Officer of Alphalyse been responsible for general management of Alphalyse since its inception. He has more than 10 years of experience from the Biotech industry, and previous posts include Head of Proteomics at ACE BioSciences, Associated Professor at Copenhagen University and Senior Scientist at PNA Diagnostics. Dr. Kofoed has established business partnerships with major pharma and biotech companies as well as commercialization agreements with laboratory supply organizations. He obtained his Ph.D. in organic chemistry from University of Southern Denmark in 1996, and holds a bachelor degree in business administration (HA). Ejvind Mørtz, Ph.D Dr. Mørtz has as founder and Chief Operating Officer been with Alphalyse since its inception. He has more than 10 years experience in biotech management as co-founder and COO of ACE BioSciences and Head of Proteomics Applications of MDS Proteomics. He has commercial experience through establishment of collaboration and licensing agreements with biotech and pharmaceutical companies. He has project management experience from establishing several vaccine and antibody discovery projects and taking these through pre-clinical development in preparation for clinical trials. He has a scientific background in proteomics and has 18 scientific publications. He obtained his Ph.D. in protein chemistry and molecular biology in 1996 from University of Southern Denmark. Andrew Munk, Ph.D. Dr. Andrew Munk is the Chief Operating Officer of Alphalyse Inc. and is responsible for the company’s operations in the US and Canada. Andrew has significant international business experience in the life science industry and was previously International Relations Director at the Danish/Swedish cluster organisation Medicon Valley Alliance where was responsible for the setup, financing and implementation of the organization’s internationalization programme known as the Life Science Ambassador Programme. Previously Dr. Munk was Senior Trade Advisor, Health & Life Sciences at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs where he worked with a wide range of Danish biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies on their marketing, sales and business development efforts in the US/Canada which included interim company management. Dr. Munk has also held the position of Managing Partner at GuideStone Inc. a strategic advisory and business development firm identifying business and investment opportunities between the North American and Scandinavian biotech-, pharma- and venture capital industries. Dr. Munk has a strong scientific background with over 15 years of experience in the life sciences. He completed his Ph.D. (with honors) in Human Physiology at McGill University in Montreal and was a staff scientist in the Developmental Molecular Genetics Unit at the Pasteur Institute in Paris, France.
