N-terminal Edman Sequencing

of proteins and peptides

Want to confirm & characterize the N-terminal amino acids of your protein?
Then PICK 'n POST N-Terminal Edman Sequencing service will provide the data.

  • Get the first 6-20 amino acid residues from the N-terminal sequence
  • Analysis performed on purified proteins in solution or protein blotted onto PVDF membrane
  • Get result reports within 2-8 days
  • Clear and easy to understand reports
  • Analysis performed in GLP accreditated lab

We Provide

Automated Edman sequencing of the protein or peptide. The Edman degradation chemistry is a cyclic procedure where the PITC reagent is coupled to the N-terminal amino group and cleaved off the protein. The PITC coupled residue is transferred to a flask, converted to a PTH-residue and the amino acid identified by HPLC chromatography. The Edman degradation reaction cycle is repeated and a sequence of N-terminal amino acids is determined.

You will receive

You will receive a detailed and easy to understand report (request sample report) in PDF format by e-mail containing:

  • HPLC chromatograms of each Edman degradation cycle
  • Amino acid sequence after interpretation of the data.
