Better quality, reproducibility and capacity for high through-put biopharmaceutical analysis

At Alphalyse we are committed to keep up with the evolving needs of our customers. Right now, we are implementing several changes in our laboratory, to further improve our capacity and quality, optimize our workflows, and benefit you through better reproducibility and turnaround time.

Strengthening our team

On 1st March, Martin Villadsen joined our team in a new position as laboratory scientist. Martin holds an MSc in Engineering within Medical Biotechnology and will improve our skills in sample processing and analytical characterization of biopharmaceuticals.

On 1st March, Anette Holck Draborg joined our HCP analysis team for development of HCP ELISA assays and HCP Coverage analysis using SWATH® LC-MS. Anette holds a PhD in Biochemistry with expertise in autoimmunology and development of immunological assays.

On 1st April, we will welcome a PhD-fellowship student under The Analytics for Biologics (A4B) project, a European innovative training network (ITN) funded by the Horizon 2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie program. The graduate school A4B offers a specific training program for the production, purification, and analysis of therapeutic proteins.

Reproducible results, less errors and faster turnaround time

We are streamlining and automating our laboratory work processes.

January marked a milestone in the sample preparation process, with the implementation of “Pippi” in our digest lab. “Pippi” is an automated pipetting “cobot” (collaborative robot), which is rapidly decreasing the time it takes for us to prepare samples for analysis. It also ensures constant and reproducible results and eliminates errors.

Last Friday, we launched an ambitious digitalization and automation project partly funded by a grant from the Danish “Erhvervspartnerskabet for Avanceret Produktion”. The aim is to bring down the turnaround time from customer order to final analysis report by building “highways” for repetitive tasks. We are developing and optimizing dataflow between systems, and digitalizing project management and administrative processes by implementation of a Quick Response Manufacturing (QRM) system. Customers will benefit by receiving a much more consistent and better customer service in the future.

Come April will see more exiting changes, such as the addition of a new mass spectrometer, a Sciex® X500B, for Intact mass analysis and peptide mapping analysis of protein biopharmaceuticals. An Evosep One will be installed for fast, high-performance separation of peptides and proteins samples for LC MS analysis.
